It sounds good to get technology into the homes of families who otherwise could not afford it. I am just wondering how the production of these "affordable" machines affects the people necessary to produce them. Who is actually paying for it? Nice article.

Interesting blog. As a school administrator, one of my biggest concerns is whether or not these "cheap" machines will be able to handle the type of Internet-based learning technologies needed to meet the learning needs of today's students. With limited hardware (e.g., 256 RAM, no display, etc.), how can kids (and teachers) using these laptops explore e-books, watch videos, run important programs, etc.? With this being said, I suppose these concerns have more to do with the short-run. In the near future, with a commitment to building cheap mobile-based technology, engineers will find creative solutions to these problems. I'm very excited about the potential benefits of this program!
